Well, I looked through the forums and noticed that NO ONE has posted a thread on Cid. Well, I like Cid as:

He drives airships!!!!

He uses spears!

He is humourous!!

And many other characteristics that make him funny and cool. What do you guys think about him?

If I were a man and wanted to be a country hick, I would aspire to be him. He makes me laugh my belly off. No one else could pull of the infamous "SIT DOWN AND DRINK YOUR GOD %$#@ TEA!!" quite like he does!

I believe you're missing the one point that makes him so cool, Riku. He doesn't just drives an airship, he personally constructed an airship, a floatplane AND a friggin' space rocket!

However, Shimmy pretty much said it about Cid. Nobody in the history of video games will ever be able to pull off "SIT DOWN AND DRINK YOUR GOD %$#@ TEA!!" the way he does.

Oh, that makes him cool too, Jerzi. I feel that the god %$#@ tea part was also cool. No one does it like Cid!

I like his little battle cry too, I'm still baffled at how a little tooth pick could stab through the hard shell of Bahamut.................

I really wanted to see one of his limit breaks, his are the best, especially the one where he lights the bomb with his cigarette! That was pimp!

Send me noodles if I'm wrong but didn't he do his Limit Break?

Now before you all start sending me noodles (which I would really love ), hear me out. There's a reason why I think he did. Bear with me.

If you will recall, right after Yuffie recovers her shuriken (during the skyscraper battle), she lands on a beam and is staring right into the scary face of Bahamut-sin. That's when the dragon king starts charging up his attack.

Out of nowhere, we hear a battle cry and we see Cid plunging down out of nowhere (okay fine, so he came from the air :cheesy:), only to stab his spear, the Highwind, into Bahamut-sin.

If memory serves me correctly, wasn't that one of Cid's earlier Limit Breaks? When Cid attacks, he usually just runs up to the enemy and stabs/slashes. He does more of the former but yeah. However, one of his earlier Limit Breaks (I think it was his first one in Level 1) has him jumping high into the air before diving down and skewering the enemy, earning him a nifty shish-kabob!

"He didn't glow a blue aura like Cloud did and yada yada yada..."

But neither did Tifa when she was fighting Loz! That was clearly Somersault when she did that backflip. And there is simply so mistaking Meteor Strike when she throws Loz into that pew (bench).

So yeah... I think Cid did perform his Limit Break. :amused:

This true, but then again he could have been just attacking from above, but I don't doubt Jerzi and his theory, so we'll just go with his idea so I can be happy! Any reason as to why he got a new model other than the Highwind? AND HOW THE HECK HE BUILD IT IN ONE YEAR!!

More like 2 years. :cheesy: The events of Advent Children happened two years after the game. And this is Cid we're talking about. The guy built a freakin' space rocket!

As for why he built a new model...
At the end of the game, after Cloud Omnislashes Sephiroth, everybody is still inside the Northen Crater. At that point, Cid says something along the lines of wishing Lady Luck would help him out one more time.

Right when he finishes saying that, the Highwind comes plunging down and everybody comes aboard. When the Lifestream bursts from the crater, the Highwind was riding the wave, right on top of it.

The problem is that the ship was too big to manoeuver and start. So in an effort to save everybody, Cid pulled the emergency lever, splitting the ship and escaping in a jet version of the Highwind.

So yeah... He needed a bigger and better airship.
