As the lovely Daeya suggested here's the Kadaj thread, at last!


Ever since his introduction in the first AC trailer people have wondered who he is. Since then he has become popular he even has a few fan clubs dedicated to him and the movie hasn't even come out yet!

So what is it exactly about him, his hair? His sword, Souba? His leather outfit? :love: Or is it cause he looks likes Sephiroth?

And how is he related to Sephiroth? A clone? A son? A second cousin removed twice on his mother's side?!?

Hmn, Kadaj..Kadaj...Kadaj....who could ask for a better villian!!! He follows in Sephiroth's footsteps but i hope he doesn't go off and kill anyone!!:evil: I would like to clarify what the connection is between Kadaj and Sephiroth tho. With the eyes and the hair. Sephiroth's eyes remind me of the evilness of h3ll, i've just seen "Constantine" today and it shows a cats eye turning into Sephiroth's eyes.

Well, i dunno what more to say about Kadaj, he's just a great villian i think that resembles so much of Sephiroth that it brings more speculation.

Kadaj... the enigmatic leader of the silver haired trio. As a villain, I like him a lot although he seems a bit young to me. Meh, what can I say? Got to train them when they're young so they beef up and become the next one to try for world domination! :laugh:

I've said it before, I love your Kadaj figurine. I'm jealous. I want one! *throws tantrum* I can't wait to see the Tifa one though. :love: Uh... that's if you make a Tifa one. hehe :laugh:

But I guess one of the reasons why I like him so much is because of Souba. Uhh... no pun intended there. *thinks* Okay, I like both of you! :bigsmile: I'm a sword fanatic and simply seeing such a beautiful blade is just... wicked. haha

Its about time this showed up. He does look very similiar to Sephiroth. You could even argue that fact that Kadaj is Sephiroth's son. Although that might be true but I very very highly dought it.

I agree with you about the sword, I don't think I ever seen a sword like Kadaj's. The blades aren't even the same, so that adds to the coolness of it.

Then as Rokit brought up there's the question of how's he's related to Sephiroth. I think with the all the trailers out there, there's no mistaking that they are related, but how? Personaly I'm leaning towards the clone theory mainly due to the fact that Kadaj calls Cloud his brother in the 4min TGS trailer. We'll definetly know for sure once the movie's out, the only thing I wonder is if he'll meet his end in AC, I know he's the villian and everything but I'd hate to see him killed. It'll be like Darh Maul in TMP all over again. :sad:

Oh wait... the blades on Souba (the sword :cheesy:) aren't the same? Now that's news to me. *runs to check pictures* I was always under the impression that the sword was forged from the same piece of steel (or whatever they use) and then simply split in two to form the double blades. Or maybe I'm wrong... :laugh:

One more thing about Kadajii-boy here (as Sephina likes to call him). It's obvious that all three silver-haired men are related to Sephiroth in some ways but I always thought that the reason Kadaj called Cloud his brother was because of the Jenova cells in him. *scratches head in confusion*

I agree with not wanting to see him get killed off. Maybe he'll finally come to his senses and make peace with everybody? I know it's wishful thinking but I can dream, no? hahaha

Well, I dunno if Cloud is Kadaj's brother, that would be really wierd but who knows, it could be. And i'm not sure if some of you guys got the new dialogue in the new trailer, Cloud is saying "Why don't you stay a memory!" Assuming yelling back to Sephiroth. Kadaj looks like in his mid twenties, but a teenager, he looks too old for that.

Did I mention that I originally became an FF/AC fan cuz I fell in love with Kadaj? And somehow... I... I thought he was Sephiroth!
I remember seeing some Sephy fan art on the internet, and later, when my friend did show me the AC trailer for the first time, I shouted, OH! That's SEPHIROTH!!

yeah, the first time I saw Kadaj, he gave off some resemblance to Sephiroth, but if serphiroth is a little chunkier and meaner looking lol, although kadaj is very sexy...oh yea btw I'm Probably the only one here who doesnt know...what is the release date on DVD in america?

There actually is no definite release date for it. So far, there has only been rumors of a May release for the North American market but as I stated, it is simply a rumor and nothing else.

And please, Master Chief, respect the rules stated in the thread. Please read the first post of this thread for the colors that are accepted and modify your posts accordingly.

What I meant when they called Cloud their brother was exactly what you said Jerzideva, that it was because he had the Jenova cells in him. Sephiroth I think also refered to Cloud as a brother? :wondering
So that may support the clone theory.

I didn't notice the blade thing either until Jubilee pointed it put to me(she runs the Kadaj shrine website). One blade is regular blade while the other is a dark colored blade, if you notice he even has ties on the hilt differentianting them. *points at illustration below* Yeah, I'm sad. :toung:

Meanwhile I'll keep ya posted on the Aeris doll, Rokit. :wink: And Light_Child you sound like you have excellent taste. :bigsmile: I can understand the confusion he does looks a lot like Sephiroth. :cool: Anyway no worries about the color as long as it is some form of gray, or green it's cool.

Ohhhhh! I'm loving the Kadaj fanart, Souba! Very nicely drawn! Have I mentioned how much of a sucker for black and white drawings/photos I am? No? Well... I'm a sucker for black and white drawings/photos! :laugh: I tell you, those are amazing!

As for the picture of the sword, it simply looks to me as if the blade is reflecting the light off of something and casting its shadow on its sister blade behind it, therefore making it look dark. Or maybe I'm completely wrong. :cheesy: But I did notice the black and white cloth (ribbon?) tied to each side of the hilt. *thinks* Maybe you're right after all. :amused:

With the sword... Square is probably throwing in things for us fans to analize bit by bit. :lost: Their making fun of us I tell you! :bigsmile: And Souba I love your artwork. I wish I could draw Kadaj... Then again I haven't tried drawing him yet. :push:

“Prelude to Chaos”

It takes place before AC.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters, nor the venue, Square Enix does. I just write these stories for fun with no profit.

The young man scanned the area, his green eyes glinting with expectation. The moment he had waited his whole life for had finally come. Then he saw it, a train. It was not much different than most, but Kadaj knew looks could be deceiving. This one held a valuable treasure. As it steadily worked its way across the barren plains Kadaj licked his lips in anticipation. It was a childish habit, but even now as a teenager he had not quite out grown it yet. This was the part he most enjoyed, after all the researching and planning which he left to his older and quiet counterpart Yazoo he could finally put it all into action. As it approached he could see two dark objects coming from either side of the train. Kadaj, who had sat patiently on his bike for the past hour started to rev the engine and direct his focus on joining the others in the hunt.

As his engine roared to life he raced down the hilltop and made his way towards the train.
Loz the oldest among the three brothers was already charging Dual Hound in an effort to stop the train. Kadaj silently cursed him for being too brutal when subtle force would work as equally well if not better. Fortunately, Yazoo had already pulled along side and began firing at the engineer. Suddenly the wheels sparked as the frightened engineer pulled the brakes to a screeching halt.
Kadaj maneuvered his bike to the front of the tracks coming within inches of the grill once the train had steadily come to a stand still. His brothers were already keeping a steady watch on anyone would dare interfere with their business.

“Who are you, what’s this all about?” The conductor demanded.
“Simple,” he said with a wry smile “it’s about mother.”
“Mother, what are you talking about?”
“Where is she?” Kadaj asked again.
“Look kid I don’t know who you are talking about, I’m transporting goods to Midgar, that’s all.”
Kadaj who had remained mildly calm during this was beginning to lose his patience.
“We know that you have her.” With one look towards Loz, the older brother was already boarding the train with Yazoo aiming Velvet nightmare at the conductor.
Within a matter of minutes Loz emerged from the train “There’s nothing” He finally conceded.
For a moment rage surged through his body, as he reached behind him to pull Souba from the sheath.
“He tricked us!” Kadaj shouted feeling the urge to gut the man standing in front of him. However the uncontrolled moment passed and his sword fell to his side.
“I have a message for you to deliver to the President.” Kadaj said suddenly feeling generous “Tell him that I’ll be coming for him.” He added with a wry grin.

With that he turned and began to board his bike. Another disappointment, but it was one that didn’t phase him, it would only be a matter of time before they would be reunited with their mother, Jenova. Then the planet would pay, they all will pay for what they had done to his mother, and their brother.

I think one of the reasons why I didn't want to start a thread on Kadaj is because it feels more special when its the HARDCORE fan that actually creates the thread for his/her fav character :amused: Don't you think? It's such a joy to see your own little baby thread grow eh? (thinks back at the first Reno post :love: ) ok, back on topic, props to Souba for her amazing fanarts!!!! I think I'm in love with those Kadaj sketches and fanarts. Your fanfiction was so well written! Damn Souba, we need more! I commend you! :toung: That is SO Kadaj's personality. You grasped almost every aspect of him. Thanks for writting and sharing!

It was a quiet day and everything going on was pretty much routine at the The Daily Doughnut. Daeya was in her office drooling over the picture of Reno she snapped three weeks ago at that unnamed building. Kiyenna was nowhere in sight and Jerzideva was busy cooking lunch for everybody. Wingedsephdx had been banned from the kitchen ever since he burned that sponge cake so it's been noodles for the past three weeks. The only bright side to that is the variety of noodles and different preparations of it that has popped up! (shameless self promotion. so sue me! :cheesy:)

The phone suddenly rang, breaking the monotony. Souba started to look around but immediately dismissed the thought of Daeya answering the phone. Kiyenna still hadn't returned from her prolonged bathroom break and Wingedsephdx had his headphones on, playing Final Fantasy VII on the computer. Sighing to herself, Souba picked up the phone.

Souba: The Daily Doughnut, how may I help you?

???: Yes, is there one by the name of Souba there?

Souba (to herself): ...Did I do anything? Uhh... yes, Souba speaking. Who is this?

???: Meet at the old train station in one hour.

Souba: Where've I heard this voice before...? Old train station? Ummm.. Who're you? :confused:

???: Just be there in an hour!

Souba was left sitting at her desk with the receiver in her hand, a dial tone reverberating in her ear, signaling the end of the converstation. She figured she had nothing to lose and besides, she knew she had heard that voice somewhere before. Try as she might, she couldn't put her finger on it. Barging into Daeya's office, Souba left a note saying she'd be back momentarily. Wingedsephdx was holding a tennis ball, trying in vain to cast Ultima on the computer that had just crashed on him. Souba decided to just leave him alone. Ducking into the office's kitchen, she let Jerzi know that she was heading out.

Souba: Hey Noodle Boy! I'm off. Be back in a bit!

Jerzi: SOUBA! There you are! I was about to bring you this seafood pad thai! And for the last time, stop calling me Noodle Boy! :notrust:

Souba: Okay, NOODLE BOY! But I gotta go. Save me a plate!

Jerzi had only momentarily turned away from the door to scoop up a plate but Souba was already in the elevator heading down to the streets. Grabbing a cab, she headed to the old train station.

Checking her watch as the cab drove away, she realized she was 7 minutes late. Hurrying up, she ran into the abandoned lobby only to see a familiar looking silhouette with silver hair staring at her.

Souba: ...Kadaj? OmgitsKadajhowcomeyourehere? :love:

Kadaj: :lost: Will you slow down? I only heard my name. All the rest sounded like chil-

Yazoo: Now be nice, nii-san. Just do it and get it over with.

Feeling threatened, Souba pulled on her Tifa-style gloves and got into her fighting stance. Loz, who stepped out a few seconds ago, quickly tried to make himself appear small behind Kadaj.

Kadaj: What're you doing, Loz?

Loz: You don't understand, man! That Tifa chick gave me a beating worse than my ex! :push: :cry:

Yazoo: ...You shame me, you know? You're always getting your ass kicked by girls!

Loz: Oh hey, you try....

Kadaj just shook his head and walked towards Souba. His hands were behind his back all this time but his sword was nowhere in sight. Our very threatened Souba was about to duck for her life when Yazoo stepped in between the two.

Yazoo: Woah there... chill! *makes cutting motion with a butterknife he pulled out of nowhere* Just give it to her, you big wuss!!

Kadaj: But I don't wanna!! :push:

Loz: You better not throw a tantrum here! You're going to embarass us all!!

Resigning himself to his fate, Kadaj took out his hands from behind his back and handed a gigantic bouquet of flowers to Souba. Attached to it was a card that said "To my greatest fangirl. Hope you enjoy these. Signed, Kadaj."

Souba: These... are... for... ..................me? OMG!! :love: :blush: :love:

Souba ran up to Kadaj and gave him a big bear hug! Kadaj just stood there, turning red from embarrassment while his brothers smirked and laughed on the side. Finally extracting himself from the embrace, he proceeded to run around the train station while being chased by Souba! :bigsmile:

Does anyone know what Kadaj actually means? :wondering: It is quite an unusual name, and it doesn't sound japanese to me. Well, Yazoo and Loz either.

Wow Daeya! Thankx for that awesome Kadaj fanart!!! :love: Well I must live up to the title of Greatest Fangirl, So I'll answer these questions posed by the lovely Daeya.

When I first saw Kadaj, I thought it was cool how his shot little bombs? at Cloud. Then he didn't even move when Cloud pulled put the buster and tried to get him while he was still on the bike! That told me that he had guts. So I would say it was his attitude that attracted me. He reminds me a little of Darth Maul, but he can also intimidate with his words, so that reminds me of Pegasus in Yugioh.

Then there is his wicked smile. My favorite moment is when Cloud is driving towards Kadaj on the bike and for a second he smirks(which you see stills of all the time), but then he makes this face like he's innocent(the nerve of that guy!). So Kadaj sets himself apart from being another Sephiroth clone and becomes a distinct and unique threat, which I think is awesome!

I guess I started liking him because of you guys (yes, the Kadaj fans, you got me! :susp: ). I started looking up things about Kadaj and slowly realised, as I went through screenshots and tried to remember what happened during the clips, that's when I realised that he would do anything to reach his goals. That's what makes him unique. Say, Avalanche members are your heroes, they won't go after children to persue a goal. Turks are Turks, they have to do their jobs, but surely won't hurt a child in the process. Silver haired men, on the other side, seem like they could and wouldn't mind....because what was in that box really is important.

At first I thought Kadaj did not have any feelings aside from being a little bit sadistic and cold, but when he screamed and cried at the end, that made me open my eyes. Again, this would be a love/hate relationship (sorry to Kadaj fans). I love to hate him. :bigsmile: and hate to love him :love:

Kadaj would actually be the hardest adversary to defeat. Seems like Cloud is having a hard time getting rid of him, while Turks roll on their back wherever SHM appear. :sad:
The icy cold blue eyes, that is what Kadaj is all about to me. And that's alot. He's the mastermind of the 3. Loz is brute force, Yazoo is sleekness and agility, while Kadaj here would be power, in every sense of the word.

Silly stories? I have one where Kadji-san is the main person - and in the end he falls in love with Marlene (In a plationic way, you pervert!!) turns against his master and decides to protect the lill girl until the end of the world! :amused: (Yea, Marlene is an Ancient in the story) Cloud and AVALANCHE is somewhere in the plot too... the fic was about 70 word -written pages and angst/drama, but come to think of it now, yup. it's silly with major S!!

Then I was like how am I going to talk all the cool people I met there? I went on search for everyone's email and found only wingedsephdx who so happened to have a page at deviantart.com. Then I met him in person and the dream ended there.

When I woke up, I was like "where in the world did that come from?"
Man that was a downer, huh? But I always seem to have nightmares about getting into trouble, being late, or missing an important test in my college course, so it's nothing new. :toung: Anyway, I look forward to reading some fun stories. :smile:

Daily Doughnut Headquarters, Kadaj Stalking Department.

The journalists, editors, illustrators and photographers of the Daily Doughnut were always busy.
Alas, they rarely found the time to talk to each other outside of work, never had the time to have a
good night sleep because they always had to remain focused, in order to report the newest scoops happening to their
favorite characters. But today was a special day. The Daily Doughnut building was opening a new floor, the 2nd floor!
(ok, so you were expecting this huge a$$ building Shin-Ra tower look-a-like?! Well unless you chip in a few gils, this is what we get for 25gils a month and running hot water!)

The newly bought Ikea furniture had just arrived. Jerzi and Wingedsephdx were already starting to put things together.
Kiyenna and Light Child were helping Souba paint the walls, in a beautiful sky blue color. The room started to have the look of an office. Everyone was busy and working together in such harmony. The teamwork was amazing and each and every single person had really put effort into decorating this rental space properly. All went well...Until a certain someone decided to enter the room.

Daeya: "Uh...Guys, in case you haven't noticed, it is 3:00pm...Kadaj will be here for his interview in 15 minutes."

Souba: "WHAT?! I said tommorow at 3:15pm! Not today!!!!"

Daeya: "Yeah, but he called this morning and left a message that read as followed: I"m changing my plans. Cloud will be delivering his pizza tommorow at 3:00pm somewhere in the forest and I have planned to ambush him at that time. I guess we'll meet today at 3:15 then. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I've been craving pizza for a month now. Kadaj."

Souba: "G...r....e....a....t....!"

Light_Child: "Well, it's ok, we can make the interview in the basement. There's plenty of space there right?"

Wingedsephdx: "The basement's gone. Remember when I forgot my sponge cake in the oven? The whole thing exploded"

Kiyenna: "How about we do it on the first floor? On the Reno Stalking Department?"

Daeya: "I don't think Kadaj will appreciate. I mean, it is Kadaj we're talking about. Reno's enemy?! And I sure don't feel like paying for Bahamut damages on the first floor...."

Souba: "Ok, I guess we'll just have to rush and finish this room before he comes."

Wingedsephdx: "Yup, and that would leave us exacly 12 minutes."

They all got to work. fast. Jerzi and Wingedsephdx have put together 2 stools; one for Souba (who will be the interviewer) and one for Kadaj (the interviewee). Kiyenna managed to finish painting one wall, Light Child was preparing the lights and the camera while Daeya checked for the microphone's sound and volume.
Souba was standing on the corner, reviewing the questions she had prepared to ask Kadaj while he would arrive.

Jerzi: "Aren't we suppose to serve our guests some food or beverages?"

Souba: "Wholy smokes! I completely forgot! What do have left in the fridge?"

Kiyenna: "Well, we have the choice between purple stuff, green stuff, expired milk or Sunny Delight. As for food, there's either Chicken wings, Godiva truffles or 0% Fat Source yogurt."

Souba: "Ok, I say Sunny D and the yogurt. Just put it in a nice container and he won't notice the difference between mango pudding and yoplait leftovers."

Wingedsephdx: " Uh guys, I see a limo down the street and 3 guys with white hair stepping out of it"

Souba: "SILVER! Silver hair......."

Wingedsephdx :blush:

Kadaj: "WOW! And there I though it'd be this huge a$$ Shin-Ra look-a-like building! I love small places! Makes me feel like home"

Loz: "Yo, I'll wait for you in the limo. They're playing the Carebears on TV."

Yazoo: "I'm going to the mall. I saw they have those nice tight leather pants on sale, and they're selling the ones Squall wore in FF8. I'm soooooooo buying them!"

Kadaj: "Aight, I'll see you later. Shouldn't be long..."

Kadaj entered the building and made his way into the elevator. He suddenly heard a voice from behind a wall.

Voice: "What floor?"

Kadaj: "WHAT THE?! Who is this?!"

Voice: "I asked, what floor? "

Kadaj, still confused and uncertain, answered: "Uh, second floor. And it's not like you had a choice, there' s only two floor in this building"

The voice didn't reply, but he could hear sounds of someone pulling on a cord, and slowly the elevator started to move.

Voice, now mumbling to himself *1) never venture on D.orh Avenue. 2) never self proclaim yourself cooler than the SHM. Darn, and there I thought I was the only Silver haired man. argh...*

The elevator stopped abrunptly and the voice spoke again. now seemingly very tired.

Voice: "Th..e....S..e.c..o..n..d....Flooor. Out!"

Kadaj: "Your voice is familiar. Did we meet anywhere? Perhaps at the How To Be a Cool Bad A$$ Seminar?"

Voice: "No. I don't go to seminars. I take online classes."

Kadaj put on a trademark grin and walked out of the elevator. He marched through the hallway, looking for the right room.

Kadaj Stalking Department

Kadaj: "Yup, I guess this is my stop."

He knocked on the door before opening it. The scenery that was unfold in front of him left him awed for a moment.

Souba nervously fixed her hair and greeted her guest with a handshake.

Souba: "Oh! Welcome Kadaj! We were looking foward to meet you. Please, come in and have a seat!"

Kadaj: "Nice to meet you too. Are you Tifa's sister? Cuz I remember she just kicked my brother's butt this morning"

Souba, now with a pink glow on her cheeks: "Oh no no. I'm Souba, your greatest fa-- I mean the interviewer for the Daily Doughnut."

Kadaj: "Well...Whaddya know. You actually look much more pretty than her." *wink*

Souba, now with a fushia glow on her cheeks: "You're so flattering. But I guess we have to start this interview as I am sure you must be a busy person."

Kadaj, surprised: "How did you know?"

Souba: "Well, your 7 cell phones hanging from your jacket's pocket and around your waits kinda gave it away"

Kadaj: "Oh. my bad. But I turned them off already. I usually receive calls from financial advisors telling to invest in this company called Panasonic that we're sponsoring this summer. Plus, the stocks in doughnuts is rising, I bought 2000 shares. And I also own half of Electronic Arts."

Souba: " Wow, well that's intesresting! Would you mind if I start with the questions?"

Kadaj: "Not at all. Hearing your sweet voice makes it easier for me to answer." *wink wink*

Souba: "Ok, question number one: Is it hard to play the role of a bad guy in a movie that most of the world is going to watch?"

Kadaj: "Not at all. I was born this way, quite literally"

Souba: "Question number two: What is the importance of your character in FF7:AC?"

Kadaj: "Very! I mean, without me, there wouldn't be a story. Cloud would be a delivery boy, Tifa a bar tender and Turks would be Turks. I am the one who spices things up." *grin*

Souba, :blush: : "Question three: Was it hard to make that scene when you summon Bahamut?"

Kadaj, :laugh: : "No no no. What you see is actually all thanks to CG technology. We were filming in front of a green panel and the entire time, we had to act. They took a giant air balloon and we had to pretend it was Bahamut."TBC...

Souba: "Question four: You seemed to be in so much pain at the end when you hold that black box. How did you act it out so well?"

Kadaj: "Actually, I ate one too many burritos that day and had extreme heart burns. So it kinda did the job for me."

Souba: "And the final question: If you had one thing you could change or add to your character, what would it be?"

Kadaj: "I'de like to yield Sephiroth's sword. Like that I'de create more confusion amongts fans who keep on saying that I'm a Sephiroth Clone...Which in fact, I am..."

Souba, Kiyenna, Light Child, Jerzi, Wingedsephdx and Daeya were all left breathless. A broken glass could be heard in the background as everyone stared at Kadaj.

Kadaj: "What? You guys didn't know?! Oh yeah! Silly me! You guys in America didn't get to see it yet! My bad. The rest of the world saw the whole movie already! It was released in spring 2004. Tetsuya just wanted to make you guys suffer for writting so many bad critics about Final Fanrasy: The Spirits Within..."

Souba, :smile: : "Well, this was an amazing interview Kadaj. Thank you so much for your time. I hope to interview you soon."

Kadaj: "Thanks for having me."

With that said, he leaned foward and gave Souba a kiss on the cheeks before sprinting out of the room.

Jerzi: "Wow, that was cool. We get this exclusive interview with Kadaj himself!"

Daeya: " I wish Reno would return my calls" *cries*

Wingedsephdx: "Uh guys....humm...it's just that...humm...there was like...y'know..missing like...a....a...tape in the camcorder"

Light Child, Kiyenna: "WHAT?!" :amazed: :amazed:
