Official Advent Children Ringtones Released (Nov. 8, 05)

Square-Enix Japan's Mobile Franchise Site has just released 7 official Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children ringtones for the FOMA brand Japanese cellphone.

Ringtones (In Alphabetical Order):

• Advent: One-Winged Angel
• Cloud Smiles A
• Cloud Smiles B
• Cloud's Theme
• Tifa's Theme
• Those Who Fight Further [FFVIII:AC Version]
• Those Who Fight Further [Piano Version]

in the news post you are citing, it mentions that phones outside of the range of Japan must use the MIDI or MP3 format. does anyone know where the ringtones can be found in those formats, or if the even exist?

WHY!? WHY do you taunt us with this news! I mean I don't even have a cellphone, but I would have bought one just to get those ringtones!!! Is there any news on whether the phone is coming to other countries in the future or is this only for Japan?

I am unsure of where you can obtain these MP3/MIDI files. I nor the staff of FF7ACMovie.com keep track of this information; we only provide the news.

Currently, the ringtones are only supported by the cellphone brands and models in Japan. There haven't been any updates that say that ringtones will be brought over to the U.S., Europe, or any other country for that matter. I doubt that it will ever happen because Japanese technology is so far ahead of American/European technology.

i think, shimmy, that it has less to do with the phone and more to do with the format of the ringtones. you probably dont necessarily have to have a certain phone to get the ringtones.

For the people with mp3 phones, it's merely a question of editing and cutting up parts of the song you want and then uploading it to your phone.

However, for the non-mp3 phones, you're going to have to find a program that can accurately reproduce the sound in MIDI format. When that's done, simply upload it somewhere. On the phone, access the web and type in the address of where the MIDI file is. You'll be charged $0.50 for the download fee from your provider but you'll have the "ringtone" on your phone.

For the Victory Fanfare, you can easily find that on any p2p programs. Just type in the necessary keywords and you'll get tons of results for it.

As for the rest, the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children OST will be needed. It's really just a matter of extracting the sequence that you want.

Mind you, these are for the mp3 phones.

For the polyphonic ringtones, I'm afraid I cannot help you.

The Victory fanfare in the movie, is not the same version you are saying, is a totally different version, just paid attention and you will hear the difference.

sephiroth35, nowhere did I state that one would get the exact version of the Victory Fanfare if you download it via a p2p program. Nor did anybody ask specifically for the movie version of the Victory Fanfare. People were merely curious what they could do in order to get ringtones for themselves.

Besides, if you were really after the version from the movie, it's as simple as isolating that audio sequence and cutting it out.

Oh and one more thing you should keep in mind, sephiroth35. This thread was originally about Square-Enix Japan releasing several official ringtones related to the movie. Nowhere in the aforementioned is the Victory Fanfare listed.

That was, and always will be, something the production team slipped in for the fans' satisfaction. To the best of my knowledge, there has not been an official Victory Fanfare ringtone.

Furthermore, the Victory Fanfare used in the movie is pretty much the first five seconds of the version in the game in an endless loop.

Now it is so easy to make your own ringtones. All we need is to select our favourtie MP3 song, and upload it on AAfter Search by typing 'ringtone:' (without quotes) in the search box. It will split the MP3 into 20 secs ringtones. Select the interesting section of the song/music from 20 secs segments. Have fun!
