I'm guessing an introduction isn't exactly necessary but just for the record, here goes. Name's Jerzideva (Jerzi, Jer, Jerm, whatever you like) and a 20 year old Tifa fanatic. To my knowledge, Klonoa would come in as the 2nd Tifa fanatic of the forums but that's another story.
I'm currently working on just about all the aspects but that doesn't mean help is frowned upon. I'm only one man. I can only do so much. So far, I've gathered info on:
The only thing now is for me to paraphrase everything so it does not turn out to be straight regurgitation, which I abhor. Knowing my bad habit of being long-winded, I urge you all to give me a swift kick in the head should I ramble on and start sounding like a grandfather at age 97 that's stuck on the same subject, imitating a broken record. If possible, I would greatly appreciate if you could let me post up what I have first so that any corrections can be made after. Give me a day or two to get my act together and I should the information up. So without further ado, I'm off! *imitates Superman flying off* |

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
I'm not sure if you remember in the FF7 instruction booklets, they gave ages and information of each character so if you have the game Jerzideva, it would help you out, unless you have a site with that information already.

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
hahaha I can picture the look of despair on Daemon's face.
Patience, people! EDIT: My mistake, everybody. I didn't pay proper attention when I was reviewing the raw information I had gathered for the Tifa Lockhart Bio Project. I had earlier mentioned that the information spawned 11 pages on Microsoft Word but I was mistaken. My friend had told me something related to the number 11 and that simply stuck in my mind. The actual number of pages (excluding the rather large portion of information that was cut off near the end due to an excess of characters I've already finished the Physical and Physiological Description as well as the Name Meaning sections although I will need to review them before posting them up. EDIT #2: Here goes the first part! Basic Information and Profile Name: Tifa Lockhart Age: 20 (22 in Advent Children) Weapon: Gloves Birthdate: May 3 Birthplace: Nibelheim Blood type: B Height: 167 cm (5"4') Job: Bar Hostess At 20 years old, Tifa is already a bar hostess in the Midgar Sector 7 slums. Her liveliness can easily cheer up anybody and often emboldens her friends with newfound courage. But do not let such a carefree attiude and cute face get the better of you. She is an accomplished hand-to-hand fighther, capable of utterly destroying any opponent. Considered to be one of the main members of AVALANCHE, she helps Barret in his quest of saving the Planet. Although a childhood friend of Cloud's, she will never admit the strong feelings she has for him. Physical and Physiological Description Standing at 167 cm, Tifa is not exactly the tallest. She makes up for her lack of height with her fighting prowess. Being considerably smaller than most, she has an easier time infiltrating her enemies' defenses. Such a small frame also makes her a smaller target, unlike her friend, Barret. Having exceptionally long hair reaching down to her knees, she ties it up neatly near the end with a heavy hairband, red in color. Splitting at the bottom, the hair becomes what is known a "dolphin tail". This dolphin tail hair is one of the physical characteristic that makes her stand out amongst all the rest. Regular Outfit Tifa comes attired in a white tank top with a circular neckline. Over this, she has a couple of suspenders, ending with an inverted V, attached to a burly silver colored belt and black mini skirt. She also has fingerless gloves covering both her forearms and extending slightly past her elbows. She has a spiked metal elbow pad on her left arm but lacks one for the right one. On her feet are a pair of black of thick black socks, not pulled up. Covering her feet are a pair of brown combat boots with steel caps covering the outer side of both boots. During combat, Tifa will put on a pair of combat gloves for added damage, as she specializes in hand-to-hand combat. Framing her face are a pair of silver earrings shaped as teardrops. Guide Outfit During all of the flashbacks, Tifa takes on the role of an experienced mountain guide, bringing tourists on tours of Mt. Nibel and the surrounding mountainside. That is when Tifa is seen wearing an outfit seemingly made from a cowboy design. She is attired in a white sleeveless shirt, which is underneath a brown jacket with an orange horizontal stripe across the middle. She also has a brown mini skirt, of the same material as her jacket, that cuts off mid-thigh. Just like the jacket, the skirt has an orange stripe, but acting as a rim. Covering her feet are a pair of dark brown boots that almost reach her knees. Sitting atop her head is a brown cowboy hat. Dangling from her ears are gold earrings shapped as pyramids. With this outfit, she lets her hair fall down her back, keeping it straight. Wallmarket Dress During the time that she infiltrates Don Corneo's mansion in Wallmarket, Tifa's taste in clothes takes a sharp turn as she chooses a very revealing dress. This was done with the hopes of having an easier time infiltrating his operation. Tifa's dress is a tight fitting number, indigo in color, that reaches halfway down her thighs. Having a high neckline, this is offset by an opening slightly above the chest area in the shape of a heart. Over that, she wears a golden belt with diamond shaped jewelry loosely dangling about her hips. Hanging from her ears are a pair of big crescent shaped earrings. Completing the ensemble is a pair of indigo high heeled stilettos. On this occasion, her hair is left cascading down her back loosely. Childhood Dress In the flashbacks featuring Tifa and Cloud as children, she is wearing a turquoise dress with thin spaghetti straps. It flows down and stops just slightly above her knees. Covering her feet are pair of platform sandals. Her hair is different on these occasions, being loose but also with the addition of bangs in front. Name Meaning First Name: Tifa The first name is a shortened version of Tiffany. In Japanese, Tifa and Tiffany are spelled the same way, with the exception of the "ni" ending. The staff deemed that Tiffany was not relevant to FF7 so they opted for Tifa, seeing as to how such a name does not exist. Such a decision was also based on tradition, seeing how, from FF2-FF8, the heroines of these games had an "i" and an "a" at the end. Last Name/Surname: Lockhart Tifa's last name is simply a play on words, especially with "heart", similar to other Final Fantasy characters (Squall Leonheart and Rinoa Heartilly). This play on words also hints at her true nature, her feelings for Cloud and how she sticks with him despite all that has happened. Another reason is for the truth of what has happened in the past, all locked up in her heart. This is easily apparent when Tifa says: "It's different from a memory locked deep within your heart." Spelling There has been a lengthy debate on how Tifa's last name is written because there are two different ways of spelling it, both found on official sources: Lockhart or Lockheart. Despite people saying that both spellings are correct, there is evidence disproving that claim. Whenever third party companies come into play, all of their merchandise has Tifa's last name written as Lockheart, such as the English player's guide. Looking at all of the other merchandise where the game's makers were actively overlooking them, the last name is spelled as Lockhart. Therefore, Lockhart is set in stone as the official spelling and Lockheart could very well simply be miscommunication. I'm not even close to being done yet, people!

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
Wow! I really like this. It's very informative.
I also had no idea about the name spelling. I assumed it was "Lockheart" and everyone else was spelling it wrong. LOL! Well, that's how her name is spelled in my version of the game...I think. (runs off to check) |

No, I haven't been slacking off! I've been working as diligently on this as humanly possible, what with work and the housecleaning and the wedding and... everything else going on!
I'll try to post the rest of what I did later on tonight. That is... IF I remember to! |

Not to sound like an elitist, but...
Someone informed me that a lot of the info in this bio was taken from the "Loveless" shrine: http://tifa.nu/tifa/. Now, I'm not the webmistress of the site, but I do know one of the girls who worked on the shrine... And, according to the FAQ, "the usage of the shrine has requests for people to not do that" without credit. So, if some info was indeed taken from "Loveless", could you please credit the site? Thank you. Last edited by Jemima; Sep 7th, 2005 at 04:11 AM. |

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
Wait, didn't I already state Loveless as my source? I'm sure I had it written at the top of the Word document that also contained my post. Let me check my post and the Word document right away.
...AH CRUD!! It was at the very top of the Word document. I even had that part highlighted so it would catch my eye. I must've not scrolled up all the way as I went to copy and paste the document. My deepest apologies to the webmistress of Loveless. I had no idea that I left that part of the document out of the post. And to think that all this time I had given credit where credit is due. I understand if you wish the above material to be removed, as Loveless is indeed where I had gotten the information from. If that is your wish, I will remove everything at my earliest convenience. I do hope you can forgive this lack of attention on my part. I honestly thought I had you stated as my source at the very beginning of my post. Whatever the outcome, you hold the power. I will comply with your wishes to be the best of my abilites. For the record, all of the above information has been gleaned from Loveless. *Note to self* Pay more attention. |

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
You should contact them -- Maybe they won't mind you using them as a source (they said that they don't mind links and stuff, as long as there is credit -- since they did put a lot of work into it)... it's just that they were a little unhappy that you forgot to credit is all.
I was talking to one of the girls who had worked on that shrine and she mentioned that she noticed that the Tifa section of Daeya.org had a lot of stuff that seemed to have been taken from "Loveless". But since you fixed that and will credit the webmistress, maybe all is ok now. Last edited by Jemima; Sep 7th, 2005 at 04:49 AM. |

Re: Tifa Lockheart/Lockhart Bio Project
Thanks for the heads up though, Jemima. If you hadn't pointed that out, I might've gone for the rest of my life thinking that I had indeed pointed out Loveless as my source and credited them, which I had failed to do.
